Our Microblading & Ombré Brows program teaches students to master these high-demand techniques using manual tools, creating the finest strokes and small dots that leave a flawless result. Students learn to create any desired brow shape or size, how to insert pigment into the skin with control, and how to control tool depth. The program covers both microblading (hair-stroke technique) and Ombré/powder brows (machine shading), two of the most sought-after services in cosmetic beauty today.

Techniques and topics covered.
A comprehensive introduction to semi-permanent brow artistry.
Textbook, stainless steel manual hand tool, blades, fake skin practice material, brow ink, brow mapping tools, brow wands, and more. Students wishing to practice Ombré brows may purchase their own tattoo device or arrange purchase through the college.
What you will be able to do.
- Evaluate and describe the anatomy and physiology of the skin
- Evaluate hair follicles and pigments on clients
- Distinguish between semi and permanent makeup techniques
- Understand colour theory and select appropriate pigments
- Perform brow mapping and draw a perfect brow outline
- Distinguish between proper and improper strokes
- Distinguish between different needle and blade types
- Understand touch-up protocols and schedule recommendations
- Communicate after-care procedures to clients
- Conduct client consultation and waiver overview
- Discuss pricing strategies and profit considerations
- Perform the microblading and Ombré procedure on live models
How to qualify.
- Minimum age: completed grade 12 or be a minimum of 19 years of age
- Photo ID required (Driver's License, Passport, or BCID)
- Completed Student Enrolment Contract before application is processed
This is a Class B program — no prior experience or prerequisite program is required. Ashford Career College nor the student applicant may waive the admission requirements.
Start Dates
Year-round enrollment. Begin once registration and payment are complete. Spots are limited and assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
