This advanced hands-on training program provides an in-depth examination of patient consultation, selection, and education related to various skin care procedures and techniques. Theoretical knowledge and efficacy issues are essential for assessing successful treatment within each module: Aesthetic Dermatology, Laser Photo Facial (IPL), Microneedling, Controlled Exfoliation & Chemical Peeling, Radio Frequency, Cavitation, and Lipo-Laser.

Learning Objectives

What you will be able to do.

  • Apply foundational skin care principles and safety protocols in simulated clinical scenarios
  • Diagnose and classify skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, and melasma — understanding causes and appropriate treatment methods
  • Explain the mechanisms and applications of ozone therapy, steaming, high frequency, radio frequency, cavitation, and lipo-laser treatments
  • Integrate advanced theoretical knowledge into hands-on practice with microdermabrasion, chemical peels, and facial laser treatments
  • Implement rigorous sanitation and disinfectant protocols to ensure a sterile environment and patient safety
  • Analyze and evaluate advanced facial rejuvenation techniques including controlled exfoliation, chemical peels, and non-invasive facial laser treatments
  • Explain the biological mechanisms and stages of healing for microneedling and chemical peel treatments, and how to maintain results over time
  • Create and implement detailed consultation and after-care plans tailored to individual patient needs, ensuring optimal treatment outcomes
Admission Requirements

How to qualify.

  • Minimum age: completed grade 12 or be a minimum of 19 years of age
  • Photo ID required (Driver's License, Passport, or BCID)
  • Completed Student Enrolment Contract before application is processed
  • Prerequisite: Microdermabrasion & Skin Care Technician Program (20 hours) from Ashford Career College — or an equivalent credential from a recognized institution covering the same fundamentals (minimum 20 hours, with detailed curriculum submitted for review)

Ashford Career College nor the student applicant may waive the admission requirements.

Start Dates

Year-round enrollment. Begin once registration and payment are complete. Spots are limited and assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
